Dear Representative Hawes,

I would like to personally thank you for your contributions to the Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.  For a first-term legislator, your interest and enthusiasm for agricultural issues was impressive. 

The Committee accomplished much during the past two years mainly because of the bipartisan attitude that all of you on the Committee displayed.  You played a significant role in the teamwork that brought to conclusion many important issues.

Specifically, I want to thank you for your interest and involvement in the farmland protection program.  This program has a great future in helping to protect some of our farms, especially with the news of increased funding that is in the new Farm Bill.

Again Susan, thanks for your leadership.
